Ferry Svan qualified for TIMBERSPORTS® Individual World Championship

During the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Nordic Championship, Ferry Svan was crowned Nordic Champion. At the time he had a great chance to qualify for the individual world championship in Prague, which is now confirmed – Ferry Svan is among the world’s top twelve athletes and will compete for the world championship title during the event on November 1-2 in Prague, Czech Republic. 

When Ferry Svan was named Nordic Champion at the Nordic Championshop on Agust 24th, he knew he was fighting for the chance to qualify for the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Individual World Championship in Prague in November. Focus was then set on the world championship, whether he would qualify or not. It is now official, Ferry will represent Sweden in the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Team and Individual World Championship.
“It is an incredible feeling to stand on top of the podium after the Nordic Championship and to know I might qualifiy to the individual world championship. It is an amazing feeling to represent Sweden in the individual championship, it has been a goal for me,” says Ferry Svan.

Ever since Ferry advance from rookie to PRO prior to the Nordic Championship in Agusut 2017, his goal has been to become the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® World Champion. 2019 has been a good year – a historical sixth place in the international competition STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Champions Trophy in May, a Nordic Championship title in August and now a place at the individual world championship. Ferry will now focus on his training to prepare and adjust his technique.
“I will be adjusting my technique in all disciplines for the upcoming championship. You only get one chance and you have to give it one hundred percent,” says Ferrt Svan.

To the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Individual World Championship, only the world’s top twelve athletes competes. Qualification is done through point system among European athletes after national championships, only the top eight qualifies while athletes from USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia is direct qualified.
