Tove Njåstad and Felixia Banck Ready for TIMBERSPORTS® International Women’s Cup

On August 25th, the world’s top female athletes in the extreme sport of TIMBERSPORTS® will gather for the International Women’s Cup 2024. The competition, held in Klingenthal, Germany, is being organized for the third consecutive year and includes competitors such as Sweden's Tove Njåstad and Denmark's Felixia Banck.

The well-known ski jumping venue, Vogtland Arena, will host the TIMBERSPORTS® International Women’s Cup 2024 on Sunday, August 25th. The competition will bring together the world’s 14 top female athletes, including Sweden’s Tove Njåstad and Denmark’s Felixia Banck. The athletes will compete in three disciplines: one with a chainsaw, one with a handsaw nearly two meters long, and one with an axe.

The two Nordic athletes know each other well and have just finished a long Nordic competition season, vying for the title of Nordic champion. Other competitors include Germany’s world record holder Alrun Uebing, Canada’s national champion and world record holder, Steph Naud, Australia’s women’s champion, Maddison Kirley, and New Zealand’s 2023 bronze medalist, Anne Paterson. The reigning champion of the International Women’s Cup is American Erin LaVoie.

“It will be exciting to compete against the opposition. They are very skilled athletes, but it feels like both Felixia and I can challenge them,” says Njåstad.

The International Women’s Cup 2024 will be live-streamed on YouTube and can be followed here.
